August is coming to a close, and the fall season is right around the corner. Port Mayaca Polo Club located in Okeechobee, Florida, just announced the launch of Autumn Polo at Port Mayaca. With the weather starting to cool off, and the fields in prime condition, the club will introduce two practices a week in October and November. Whether you want to start your horses up early, leg up sale horses, or bring some young ones along- Port Mayaca Polo Club can provide an enjoyable, organized setting.
The club’s winter season will be full again with regular practices starting after Thanksgiving and the tournament season kicking off with the Holiday Family Cup December 27-31. Entries are now open for the Holiday Family Cup. Please contact portmayacapolo@gmail.com for more information.
As you make your plans for 2018 stabling, please keep the Port Mayaca Polo facility in mind. The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
