Eight GAUNTLET OF POLO® alums will begin the English season competing for the King Power Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship that begins Wednesday, July 1 and runs through Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Cowdray Park Polo Club in West Sussex, England. Andrey Borodin, team owner of Park Place, one of the GAUNTLET teams that competed in the 2020 Florida high-goal winter season, will have two teams represented in the English competition including Park Place Vaara. Competing with Borodin will be 2019 GAUNTLET champions Facundo and Gonzalito Pieres. Other GAUNTLET alums include Ignacio “Cubi” Toccalino (Tonkawa 2020, Santa Clara 2019), David “Pelon Stirling (Las Monjitas 2020), Juan Britos (Park Place 2020, Park Place 2019), Hilario Ulloa (Las Monjitas 2019) and Nico Pieres (Coca-Cola 2020, Park Place 2019).

Sadly, due to current English government restrictions, the competition will be held behind closed doors and spectators will not be permitted to attend any matches. However, Cowdary Park Polo Club is thrilled to announce that all games will be livestreamed via Cowdray TV with a paid subscription including three package options. There will be 21 games in the Gold Cup for the British Open, showcasing two of the best players in the world along with some rising young stars. The two teenaged Castagnola brothers, Barto and Jeta, will try to repeat last year’s win and Adolfo Cambiaso is playing with his 14 year old son, Poroto.
