In a rematch of Friday’s last game of Bronze Trophy bracket play, the undefeated Crestview Genetics met SD Farms in the USPA Bronze Trophy Final on Sunday, October 30, at New Bridge Polo & Country Club. SD Farms captured a quick lead in the first chukker scoring two unanswered goals; the first from Sayuu Dantata followed by a penalty 3 conversion by Peco Polledo. Willie Hartnett continued SD Farms’ momentum with a goal in the second, however the remainder of first half play was marked by an onslaught of goals from Crestview Genetics to end the third chukker 7-3.

SD Farms began both the fourth and fifth chukkers with a goal, yet they were matched in the fourth and then finally overpowered offensively in the fifth and sixth. Hugo Lloret of Crestview Genetics scored the only goal of the sixth chukker. Crestview Genetics defeated SD Farms 11-5 to capture the USPA Bronze Trophy at New Bridge Polo Club.

“Hugo and I focused on our organization and defense so that Joaquin was able to be free on the field. We tried to push Willie and Peco to release the ball forward and make the plays easy on offense,” said Pedro Manion of Crestview Genetics.

Most Valuable player was awarded to Hugo Lloret with an impressive five total goals from the field. Best Playing Pony honors were presented to 7-year-old Argentine mare Maruca (Chelo x Mara) played by Joaquin Panelo owned by Crestview Genetics and bred by Matias Magrini.
