The 2021 U.S. Open Polo Championship®, the third leg of the prestigious, world-class GAUNTLET OF POLO®, has officially closed out polo season in Wellington, Florida. Now everyone can watch the heart-stopping final game on CBS Sports, sponsored by The Palm Beaches and U.S. Polo Assn. on Sunday, May 9 at 2:00pm ET/11:00am PT from their very own homes. The broadcast of the event will also air on CBS Sports Network, Eurosport and Eurosport India with international viewership approaching five million viewers.

The CBS broadcast of the U.S. Open Polo Championship® Final is the perfect way to celebrate the tradition and heritage of the sport of polo this Mother’s Day. The polo-inspired “at home tailgate” includes chilled champagne alongside all your favorite tailgating snacks, all while watching Scone and Park Place face off in the third final of the GAUNTLET OF POLO®.

“After more than a year of uncertainty and the cancellation of our 2020 season before its mid-point, it was incredible to have the GAUNTLET OF POLO contested at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC), with top players, top equine athletes and a small number of fans celebrating the athleticism and competition of this amazing series,” said Stewart Armstrong, Chairman of the USPA, and Aspen/Dutta Corp competitor.

The final played on the U.S. Polo Assn. Field 1, the U.S. Open Polo Championship® is one of the most prestigious tournament in the United States, featuring the sport’s finest high-goal players, along with their equine partners, from around the world. One of the memorable aspects of this game is watching global polo star and 10-goaler Adolfo Cambiaso play his ninth U.S. Open Polo Championship® alongside his 15-year-old son, Poroto Cambiaso, for the first time.

“It’s thrilling to have the most prestigious of tournaments, the U.S. Open Polo Championship®, broadcast on CBS Sports and other networks worldwide,” said J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global Licensing, the worldwide licensor of the U.S. Polo Assn. brand. “This coverage gives great exposure to the amazing sport of polo for millions of sports fans and consumers alike. U.S. Polo Assn. proudly supports and celebrates these players on the global stage and the brand’s authentic connection to the sport of polo.”

As the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), U.S. Polo Assn. was the premier sponsor of the entire GAUNTLET OF POLO®. All three tournaments of the GAUNTLET, the C.V. Whitney Cup®, USPA Gold Cup® and the U.S. Open Polo Championship® were played at IPC (Wellington, FL) and livestreamed on Global Polo TV, a pay-to-view broadcasting service.

In addition to the more than $500,000 in prize money awarded this GAUNTLET season, U.S. Polo Assn. donated more than $50,000 dollars to the following 501(c)3 polo-based charities: The Homes for Horses Coalition, Polo For Life, Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame, Polo Pony Rescue, Polo Players Support Group, Polo Training Foundation, Replay Polo, Retired Racehorse Project and Work to Ride.
