USPA Polo Instructor, Level 1
He initially learned to play polo in the Cornell Interscholastic program with David Eldredge. He played through college at Cornell where he was the captain of his team his junior and senior years. His team made it to Intercollegiate Nationals all four years he played there and he was selected for Team USPA in 2014. His career as a polo instructor began when he started teaching on a consistent basis at Great Meadow Polo Club. They had a large number of players that started out with minimal polo experience. Through lessons and coaching his students were able to advance into tournament competition at various levels of play. Branden currently teaches at the Yale Polo and Equestrian Center in Bethany, CT. He coaches Yale’s Interscholastic and Intercollegiate teams.
What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
“My favorite teaching memory has to be having the opportunity to watch polo give one of my teenage players such a sense of self confidence both on and off of the field. This sport provides players with tools and connections that they will benefit from for the rest of their lives.”
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
