Start Your Own Interscholastic Team

Any USPA Member Club may host an interscholastic team. Players must reside within 100 miles of the host club, or the host club must be on of the three closet clubs to that student's address that fields an interscholastic team. Competition is for players from grades 7-12.

USPA Requirements

If you are a USPA Member Club:

1. Register your Interscholastic team by October 1st by submitting the Intent to Compete Form.

Each USPA Member Club can field multiple teams, comprised of either all boys, all girls, or a mix. There are separate divisions for Girls’ and Open. All teams are required to play at least two regular season games against other IS Teams in their region. Visit the Interscholastic Page to view additional team and player requirements. All registered teams that complete all necessary paperwork, fees, deadlines and game requirements, are guaranteed a spot in a tournament.

If you are NOT a USPA Member Club:

1. Register your polo club with the USPA.

Contact USPA Membership and Handicap Director Lindsey Greenway for a club application and information on becoming a USPA Member Club. If you are a school, a letter from the institution needs to accompany the application, stating that polo is recognized as a sport or club at the school. Once your club status is approved with the USPA, follow above guidelines on how to start competing.

If you are considering competing this year, please contact Director of Intercollegiate/Interscholastic Polo Amy Fraser at afraser@uspolo.org.
