The VI Women’s Argentine Open kicked off this week with eight teams competing for the most important ladies' tournament in the world including five American women. La Dolfina returns once more with hopes to defend their title and will face off against fierce opponents, such as two-time champions El Overo Z7 UAE. However, La Irenita E-Movilty will be returning with the same players from last year, with Hope Arellano* in the starting lineup. The tournament will take place on the Argentine Polo Association (AAP) owned fields in Pilar and the final is set to take place in Palermo before the Argentine Open Final.

La Irenita E-Movilty will be in Zone 2 with El Overo Z7 UAE, La Ensenada Lancome and Las Betulas. Arellano, who recently finished second in the XII FIP World Polo Championship and made history as the first woman to play the final stages of the international tournament, is joined by Milagros Sanchez, Fatima Balzano and Izzy Parsons. Arellano will face off against her fellow Americans Mia Bray* and Catlin Dix, who will be playing for Las Betulas. La Irenita E-Movility’s biggest rival will be El Overo Z7 UAE.

Zone 1 features two more American players. Puerta Abierta Wolfpack Polo will be led by Izzy Wolf, from North Virginia, and Kylie Sheehan*, who spends her time in Wellington, Florida, and Aiken, South Carolina.
