Oklahoma City is widely known for great farm land, oil wells and cowboy culture, but many may not be as familiar with the active polo facility in Jones, Oklahoma, only 19 miles from the city known as the “Big Friendly.” Owned and operated by Great Plains Circuit Governor David Ragland and his wife Judy, OKC Polo Club serves as the go-to place for fun, family-oriented polo for players of all ages in the region. No amenity was left out when designing the club—two polo barns, an arena, two practice fields, a track and a wooden practice horse, all compliment a regulation size polo field. After practices and games, players and guests can enjoy a lovely shaded area perfect for relaxing on a hot day.
New for 2018 the OKC Polo Club will serve as host to a polo school featuring instruction from David Ragland, intercollegiate player Devan Groves and Certified Polo Instructor Robin Sanchez. Each Saturday morning session will feature clinics, chalk talk, rules review and private lessons. Sanchez combines years of experience with modern technology utilizing personal headsets and video feedback to improve students' skills. She will cover riding for polo, swing mechanics, outdoor and arena strategies, rules and horsemanship in her lessons.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.Read More
