NEWPORT POLO LAUNCHES THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY COVER SWEEPSTAKES

The Newport International Polo Series hosted by Westchester Polo Club (Portsmouth, Rhode Island) is pleased to launch a thirtieth anniversary cover sweepstakes for its 2021 Season Program, offering a TAG Heuer Swiss watch from Hannoush Jewelers as the Grand Prize.

“We are excited for the return of international competition for our jubilee year, and have a host of special plans for this season to mark the milestone, including the Sweepstakes and the debut of Switzerland, who was the number one choice from a fan poll,” explained USA Captain and Polo Series founder Dan Keating. “A Swiss luxury brand timepiece is a fitting Grand Prize for this occasion.”

Hannoush Jewelers is a New England originated national chain, that has built a 30-year reputation, from the original store in Massachusetts in 1980 to a network of more than 40 locations around the U.S. Hannoush Jewelers' locations in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and Warwick, Rhode Island each carry the largest jewelry, diamond, and watch collections in their areas.

From thousands of photos captured last season by the Newport Polo corps of professional photographers, when it was the only live spectator sport in New England, a curated collection of 30 images have been assembled for the Thirtieth Anniversary Cover Sweepstakes. Entrants vote for two favorites for a chance to win the Grand Prize. For participants of age 18 or older who legally reside in the US, the entry form can be found on Newport Polo’s website at www.nptpolo.com.

Inaugurated in 1992, the thirtieth anniversary season of the Newport International Polo Series is scheduled to commence on Opening Day, Saturday, June 5 with USA vs. Switzerland, for 17 consecutive polo matches every Saturday through September.

Newport Polo extends its deepest appreciation to its dedicated photographers who chronicled the thrill of polo in its American Birthplace over the past year and whose work will grace the cover and inside pages of the official Season Program: Cocoa & Co., JBK Photography, John Lincourt Photography, Kevin M. Bernard, Michele & Stephen Almeida - MISTE Photography, Rod Harris, and Scott Trauth Photography.

Founded in 1876, Newport Polo offers year-round polo club membership and polo instruction. After a proven game plan during the pandemic year that won State approval and audience support, momentum for the approaching milestone season is bullish, to celebrate three decades of polo re-born in its American birthplace.

The polo matches are one of destination Newport’s unique traditions & renown attractions, shaping Newport’s rise to prominence to this day as an international seaside sport and resort destination, and one of America's most desirable places to live and work.

The International Polo Grounds are located on the acreage of Glen Farm, 250 Linden Lane (off Route 138) in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, only minutes from Newport’s bustling harbor. This bucolic setting along the East passage of Aquidneck Island, enjoys a moderating coastal effect in summer for pleasurable afternoon polo spectating throughout the summer.
