Seven young players took to the Maui Polo Club arena to compete in the Middle School League in Makawao, Hawaii. Maui Black’s Jayci Jay Clark and Ka’ili Rice each scored from the field to give their team the lead in the first chukker. With help from teammate Kaya Tyrrell, they held Maui White scoreless in the first chukker. Teammates Luna Milligan, Elizabeth Miranda, and Leah Melzer of Maui White held Tyrrell and Maui Black to a single score in the second chukker to head into halftime with Maui Black ahead 3-0. Clark found the goal first in the third chukker for Maui Black, but White’s Emily Coflin scored from the field to get her team on the board. Rice rounded out the scoring in the third chukker, extending Black’s lead to four again. White was unable to answer again in the fourth, as Black with goals from Clark and Tyrrell, rode away with the win 7-1.

Elizabeth Miranda’s Kula Girl was chosen as Best Playing Pony.
