Due to a lot of patience, effort, and a healthy dose of talent, Jared Zenni* has become one of the best young American polo players. At 24 years old, he still has a long career ahead of him, but it could be possible for him to be the best American player in the future.

Zenni reflected on his contributions to Daily Racing Form’s performance in the GAUNTLET OF POLO™. “Overall, I think we had a good season in the GAUNTLET. We would have liked to win one of the tournaments or make it to the final, but we had our chances and they were important to learn from,” Zenni commented. “All four of us knew that we could beat any team, any day, if we played a full game the way we know we can. Unfortunately, we were not able to finish off the season in the manner we would have liked, but I definitely feel like it was an important learning experience for my polo. I will come back next year even more motivated, but for now I have another season under my belt.”

The second half of the year will be busy for Zenni. Even though his schedule has not been finalized yet, he will return to Argentina in September to play in some of the most important tournaments in the world. “I am still trying to figure out what I am going to do for the summer, but if I don’t get a job I will just stay home to train and recover in preparation for the long Argentine season.”

Zenni will play for La Cañada again this year in the qualifier for Palermo, looking for a repeat of last year’s win. However, this year the opposition looks even tougher. “The classification this year is going to be very competitive. I have not seen one this difficult since I have been watching,” Zenni said. "There are seven very competitive teams and any of those seven could advance to play at Hurlingham and Palermo. We just have to make sure we control everything within our power and try to be at our best when the classification comes.”
