The Horsemanship program at Culver Academies is seeking talented horses to expand their herd. Their programs offer a range of equestrian experiences for riders ages 9-18 of all skill levels, including basic equitation, jumping, polo, vaulting, trail riding, mounted archery, skijoring, and beyond. Their horses receive the best care possible, including the latest in equine therapies, a dedicated farrier, and a full-time onsite veterinary technician.

POLO PONIES

Polo ponies may be of any color, and between the ages of 6 to 14. Ponies who might be looking to slow down from high-goal polo or more strenuous outdoor polo are typically great fits. The ideal horse is one that is a sound, safe mount for competitive varsity players through those who are new to the sport. Culver’s polo ponies travel to various interscholastic and intercollegiate level competitions as they work to enhance and improve their polo program.

PARADE AND LESSON HORSES

Culver is searching for parade and lesson horses that are 6-15 years old, 15-17 hands tall, and either black or very dark in color. These well-trained mounts should be suitable for riders of any skill level, with the ability to remain calm and collected during parades and demonstrations. In addition to providing daily equitation lessons for students, these horses also travel across the country for parades and high-profile events, including the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, the Kentucky Derby, and Presidential Inaugurations. These trusted animals teach our students the importance of responsibility, leadership, and conscientious equine care.

HUNTER/JUMPERS

Hunter/jumper horses at Culver should be 6-14 years old, any color, and 15.2-17.2 hands tall. These horses should be successfully competing at 3’6/1.10m and capable of being maintained and ridden by an intermediate/advanced rider. Our hunter/jumper horses compete in interscholastic, intercollegiate and open competitions. Our program is improving tremendously, with the introduction of new surfaces and training equipment, and we need horses that will continue to boost this program!
