The All Pro Polo League (APPL) is heading back to Florida for its third U.S. edition. The tournament, scheduled for the last week of March, is sure to be one of the league’s most outstanding yet, with several of the world’s best players set to take part.
Gonzalo, Facundo and Nico Pieres, Hilario Ulloa and Sapo Caset, were present at the tournament launch held at International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida. All five 10-goalers confirmed their participation by lifting the APPL Eagle trophy, symbolic of the league.
The 28-30 goal tournament will see one 10-goal player head each team. The formations will be completed by high-goal players taking part in the Palm Beach season, and young Team USPA members, the aim also being to engage local players in the league.
Over the course of 2018, the APPL will host many tournaments of this format. Several 10-goal players, seeing the great potential of the league, have already signed up for the international challenges. We also invite polo clubs around the world to get in touch and form part of the APPL World Tour.
The APPL has grown considerably since its first tournament in 2015. Last year, the league hosted tournaments around Europe, and in North and South America, in which the best players of the sport fully adopted APPL rules. Influenced by the success of the APPL, the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) introduced many APPL rules to traditional high-goal tournaments, most notably, The Argentine Open.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
