Through his local Pony Club in Connecticut James found polo at the young age of 14. James continued to play polo throughout his youth and collegiately; he began teaching at the University of Connecticut as captain of the team. Post college, James became the Polo Manager at the OxRidge Hunt Club and then served as the coach of the Yale University varsity teams for 12 years, where he continues to have an active role in the program. James’ other accomplishments include serving on the USPA Finance and Arena Committees, and he is actively involved in the I/I and NYTS programs.

What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
