REGIONAL PRESIDENT'S CUP
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Regional President’s Cup tournaments held nationwide have served as a qualifying tournament for the National President’s Cup since 2020. Encouraging participation at the 4- to 8-goal level, the return of the original tournament format has brought together teams representing USPA Member Clubs around the country and restored the relationship between the two trophies. The 2022 National President’s Cup will be held at New Bridge Polo & Country Club (Aiken, South Carolina) at the height of the competitive fall season. The National President’s Cup gives priority entry to first and second place Regional President’s Cup teams.
In 2020, Copperline Farm (Ben Ketchum, Justin Daniels, Milo Dorignac, Gaston Lisioli) used a strong second half to defeat Kyne Property Group (Martha Bennett, Armando Huerta, Leo Mandelbaum, Emmanuel Huerta) 5-2.5.
After losing by one goal in their first Regional President's Cup matchup of 2021, Gardenvale/Horseware (Juanse Olivera, Shane Finemore, Ignacio ‘Nachi’ Viana, Juan Bautista Crotto) redeemed themselves against undefeated Skaneateles (Marty Cregg, Valentino Echezarreta, Constancio "Costi" Caset, Joao Pedro Souza Aranha) by a narrow one-goal margin, converting a Penalty 2 in the final minutes to capture the 10-9 victory.
Being played for at Port Mayaca Polo Club (PMPC) in Okeechobee, Florida, for the third consecutive year, the 2022 Regional President's Cup will feature six competitive teams competing for the title, including 2021 finalists Skaneateles. Amongst the competition are Graduating Team USPA Members Lucas Arellano (Mint Eco Carwash), Harrison Azzaro (Poplar Hill) and Team USPA alumnus Costi Caset (Skaneateles).
