PACIFIC COAST CIRCUIT WOMEN'S CHALLENGE - A FLIGHT
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
For the first time, the 2021 Pacific Coast Circuit Women’s Challenge will be hosted at the picturesque La Herradura Polo Club in Santa Ynez, California.
Talented players will gather to compete and celebrate the legacy of the legendary player Sunny Hale. Hale was a California native, a passionate ambassador for the players and horses of polo, and the first woman to win the U.S. Open Polo Championship®. Often considered to be one of the all-time greatest female polo players and role models for many women throughout the sport, the creation of the Women’s Championship Tournament (WTC) was named in her honor to celebrate her desire to develop women's polo around the world.
In addition to honoring Hale, the Pacific Coast Circuit Women's Challenge will benefit the Susan G. Komen nonprofit organization of Northern and Central California, contributing to their mission of breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment.
As the country emerges out of the COVID-19 crisis, the USPA established opportunities to support USPA Member Club events through the use of the COVID-19 USPA Polo Tournament Stimulus Package, which provides eligible USPA Member Clubs with waived tournament fees, trophies or reimbursements, one professional umpire and $2,500 in prize money per tournament at no extra cost. La Herradura Polo Club will be taking advantage of the program for this tournament.
This year's field will feature competition between Sotheby's and Topo Chico.
