NATIONAL AMATEUR CUP
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Established in 2004, the National Amateur Cup is a 0- to 4-goal outdoor tournament. Originally hosted by Lexington Polo Association in Lexington, Kentucky until 2015, Futurity Hill led the competition earning four (2006, 2007, 2008, 2012) titles. Following a three-year hiatus, the National Amateur Cup was revived on the West Coast in 2019 at Empire Polo Club in Coachella, California, and included back-to-back victories from Hanalei Bay (2019, 2020). After a three-year run at Empire Polo Club, the cup temporarily re-located to Texas in 2022, at Two Wishes Polo Club (Lockhart, Texas).
In 2022, Scuderia (Lauren Sterr, Wes Alston, Trey Crea, Ariel Mancebo) met Oak Bend Farm (Chris Ballard, Fabian Osses, Joss Leufrancois, Nadir Khan) to crown a new National Amateur Cup champion. Relying on a balanced offensive effort, an unanswered three-goal run from Alston and Mancebo proved pivotal earning Scuderia's 5.5-3 victory. Read article here.
Proudly returning to The Golden State, Eldorado Polo Club (Indio, California) will host the National Amateur Cup for the first time in the tournament's two-decade history. This year's edition will field seven talented teams including Alpha Omega/K2, Doorn Design/Chappaqua, Granite Bay, Lo Siento/Styled Equestrian, Luna Polo, Ocean Air and Ryan all vying for their first National Amateur Cup.
