Tournament History

In 2009 the Argentine Polo Association played the first Copa de las Naciones, created with the aim of promoting the international bond between Argentina and other countries that play polo. The tournament has been held ever since at Palermo with the exception of 2010. Argentina holds the record for the most wins with six of the eight titles, while England claimed the trophy in 2014 and Chile in 2016.

The Venue

Campo Argentino de Polo, also known as “the cathedral of polo,” is home of the world-famous Argentine Open (Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo) in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Holding up to 30,000 spectators, the stadium often reaches full capacity during the spring season between November and December when the best international 10-goalers compete for one of the most prestigious championships in the world.
