The United States Polo Association Membership and Club Marketing Departments have been at the International Polo Club in Wellington, Florida the last two Sundays during the U.S. Open Polo Championship® informing spectators about the USPA. The tent has been interactive with Club Marketing teaching spectators how to swing foot mallets and giving away t-shirts, drink koozies and polo publications. All new members that have signed up at the tent have been entered into a drawing for a free polo lesson by either Joey Casey of Palm City Polo or Luis Escobar of Santa Clara Polo Club. The USPA Tent has been very successful with many new member sign ups, and will be set up again this Sunday, April 24th for the U.S. Open Finals. Stop by and talk with Teresa Stephens, Club and Membership Director, or Cristina Fernandez and Bentley Primm, Club Marketing Coordinators.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
