Get your tickets now for the LEXUS International Gay Polo Tournament Presented by Douglas Elliman Real Estate. This year’s event will be held from April 7-10 at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC) in Wellington, Florida, one of the most prestigious polo venues in the world.
Gay Polo League (GPL) celebrates the twelfth anniversary of the unique polo event and plans are in place to make it the most memorable event of the year, including the return of the ever-popular tailgate competition sponsored by First Republic Bank, with prizes awarded to the top five winners.
Attendees can look forward to two main events. First, Baccarat presents GPL Polotini WIGSTOCK! Join us poolside at IPC’s Mallet Grille on Friday, April 8 from 6:30-10:30pm for a fabulous night of music, dancing, delicious hors d'oeuvres, open bar, and live entertainment by the infamous and incomparable Varla Jean Merman to raise money for the onePulse Foundation.
Then, enjoy a relaxing day of watching polo on Saturday, April 9, with matches beginning at 10:30am and 12:00pm. Four teams will be facing off for this year’s victory: defending champions Cherry Knoll Farm, Baccarat, First Republic Bank and Woodford Reserve. The teams include LGBTQ+ polo players from Argentina, France, the Netherlands, Peru and the United States.
This year’s event is back in full force, with general admission, a divot stomp hosted by Baccarat, a tailgate competition sponsored by First Republic Bank, and a VIP Pavilion sponsored by Cherry Knoll Farm.
This year, the GPL event will benefit the onePulse Foundation. This extraordinary organization was established in the aftermath of the worst mass killings of forty-nine people at the Pulse Nightclub, a popular LGBTQ dance club in Orlando, Florida. The foundation established educational scholarships honoring those killed. OnePulse has also been granted a national memorial designation to build an LGBTQ museum, the first of its kind in North America. The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
