After a successful Autumn Polo Season, Port Mayaca Polo Club located in Okeechobee, Florida, would like to invite you to their 2018 Winter Season. The weather is starting to cool off, and the fields are in prime condition. Practice at the Port every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning at 10:30am ET. Member practices begin on Tuesday, December 12, at 10:30am ET, and this year, there are some added membership options to choose from, for further information contact portmayacapolo@gmail.com.
The first tournament of the season will be the Holiday Family Cup. Entries are now open and games will take place on December 27 and 29, with the finals on New Years Eve. Check out the season schedule below for the full line up of 6-, 8- and 12-goal tournaments, running from January through April.
As you make your plans for 2018 stabling, please keep the Port Mayaca polo facility in mind. Comprised of eight Celebration Bermuda fields, miles of trails, on-site groom’s quarters, club stabling for 128 horses and four private farm leases, the club can offer something for everyone. The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
