PACIFIC COAST CIRCUIT WOMEN’S CHALLENGE PROVES NO CHALLENGE FOR OCEAN MIST

Dominating the USPA Pacific Coast Women’s Challenge Final – WCT Qualifier, Ocean Mist (Carin Middleton 4, Mia Bray 3, Megan Judge 3, Heather Lake 3/Sheryl Sick 3) won by a landslide 9-2.5 count over M3 (Madelyn Cobb 4, Jemma Contreras 1, Cybele Jordan 4, Erin Brittin 2) on Sunday, April 1, at the Eldorado Polo Club in Indio, California.

Initially awarded 1.5 goals on handicap, M3 scored the first goal of the game, a penalty converted by Madelyn Cobb. Their 2.5 goal lead was not to last long however, as Ocean Mist then scored nine unanswered tallies which M3 could not defend.

For Ocean Mist, Lake contributed three goals, Bray made one from the field and two from the penalty line, Judge struck twice and Middleton once with a penalty conversion in the second chukker. Powerful offensively, Ocean Mist continued to hammer shots between the opposing goal posts, increasing the disparity with every chukker. Although both teams went scoreless in the final period, Ocean Mist’s decisive command throughout the game ensured their win 9-2.5.

BPP Maclo

Notable for her steady, strong, and thoughtful play, Bray was selected as the Most Valuable Player.Maclo, owned by George Dill and played by Brittin in the fourth chukker was awarded the Best Playing Pony blanket.
