Middleburg Polo Club, locally known around Upperville, Virginia, as Banbury Cross Polo Club, hosted their first USPA National Youth Tournament Series Qualifier. Two fierce teams faced off, with everyone hoping to secure a spot as an All-Star.
The game started off with Tiernan Tognini converting an early penalty 2, to put La Matera on the board. As the first half continued, the score remained unchanged due to excellent teamwork and strong defensive plays by both teams. Returning after the half, La Matera was eager to widen their existing lead and added four goals to the board, before Tenzin Tognini scored for Casa Dio. Enthusiastic after his previous goal, Tenzin scored again from the field in the fourth and an outstanding team play took Ariana Soresi to goal, where she added one more to the Casa Dio score. However, the momentum La Matera gained in the third could not be met and the game ended with La Matera winning Middleburg Polo’s first NYTS Qualifier.
