Daren Vann Livingston, 55, of Brookshire, Texas, died unexpectedly on April 29, 2017. He suffered a heart attack while atop his favorite polo pony playing a Saturday morning match. There was no better way for this man to have left this earth.
Daren was born on April 7, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, to parents Bud and Ann (Bowling) Livingston. He is preceded in death by his father, Bud Livingston and his brother, Shannon Lee. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Livingston of Brookshire, Texas, his mother, Ann Livingston of Bristow, Oklahoma, brother, Buddie Livingston of Bristow, Oklahoma, and sister, Dana Livingston of Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are countless friends who are just like family that will mourn his passing.
At the time of his death his was Vice President of Marketing for DRI Logistics, a provider and vendor for drilling rigs and oil field equipment. For the past 30 years, he also worked in the polo industry training horses, coaching and playing. He was manager of the Houston Polo Club for over 15 years. Daren enjoyed his work with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo raising funds for student scholarships
Daren graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1980 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma earning a BBA in finance. While attending college, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He loved the “Sooners” and his anthem for his life was “Boomer Sooner,” he was Sooner born and Sooner bred.
He fell in love with his wife, Tammy, while working at the L.A. Equestrian Center in Los Angeles, California. They were married on August 28, 1991, in Miami, Oklahoma, and have spent the last 25 years building a life together, raising horses, playing polo and loving on their pups.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, May 6, at Pecan Acres Polo Club in Simonton, Texas.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
