Joseph Cavangaro Dardi (Bud) passed away peacefully January 4, 2017, at the age of 82, surrounded by his two surviving daughters Gina and Marisa at his bedside in Auburn, California. A staple of the Eldorado Polo Club, in Indio, California, Bud was an avid horseman all his life playing polo all over the world. A dedicated endurance rider, he also enjoyed week-long rides with his friends in Ranchero Vistadores, Sonoma Trail Blazers and Frontier Boys. He worked for Andreini and Company selling commercial insurance, later becoming involved the restaurant business in San Francisco and Santa Rosa, California, for over 50 years. He was a true Gentleman and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his father Virgil D. Dardi of San Francisco, California, mother Elena C. Dardi of Carmel, California, sister Eleneda Sullivan of Lake Tahoe, California, and daughter Mia Dardi of Auburn, California. Services will be held at the Santa Barbara Mission, 2201 Laguna Street, Santa Barbara, California, on Tuesday, January 17 at 2:00pm ET.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
