APPLY TODAY TO BECOME A TEAM USPA MEMBER

Players applying to the Team USPA program must demonstrate their commitment to polo and have clear and specific goals related to their career. Selection criteria will include playing ability, horsemanship, improvement potential, attitude and work ethic. This program identifies talented American polo players who are committed to pursuing a career as a polo professional and who are on track to achieve an outdoor handicap of 5 goals by the age of 21. Opportunities to apply for training in Argentina and grants designed for unique player development will be available to help advance players’ level of play as well as customized training opportunities organized by the Team USPA committee.

All materials and applications for 2022 will be accepted from Tuesday, February 15 until Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

The following information is requested:

  1. Players with a DOB between 1/1/2002 and 12/31/2007 are invited to apply
  2. Proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. Passport or Birth Certificate)
  3. A cover letter outlining personal polo goals and commitment to the sport explicitly stating what you would like to achieve through the Team USPA program.
  4. A detailed resume including; detailed polo and horse-related experience, industry-related work experience, skills and hobbies.
  5. A video or link to a recent game that you have played in.
  6. A minimum of three recommendation letters demonstrating athletic ability, work ethic, potential and horsemanship from current and former high-goal players and respected members of the polo community sent electronically to polodevelopment@uspolo.org.
  7. Members must have received their high school diploma or GED, or currently be working towards graduation by the age of nineteen and in good standing with current school.
