I have been on the Board of Governors since 2015, first as the Central Circuit Governor and then as a Governor-at-Large. I sit on the Finance Committee and PDI Committee and I am the current Chair of the PDI committee. PDI is focused on helping clubs of all sizes grow and become sustainable.
In 2020, as Chair of the PDI committee, in addition to awarding PDI Grants, I oversaw the Distressed Club Relief Program financially helping clubs impacted by COVID. In 2018, I chaired the Ad Hoc committee for strategic planning for the PDI program. I have also been a past member of the Nominating Committee and the Polo Development Advisory Board.
I was a founder board member of the Chicago Polo Association (CPA), an association of 8 USPA clubs and over 150 USPA members in the Chicago area. Since joining the BOG, I have never missed an annual meeting and typically attend as many committee meetings as possible. My focus as a Governor-at-Large is to promote strategic USPA club growth and sustainability, new player development through polo schools and excellence in the polo experience.
I have been playing polo since 2004, when I was introduced to polo through a USPA club's polo school. I have played 0- to 12-goal polo in Chicago, the greater Midwest and Aiken, South Carolina.
Effective Date: Saturday, May 16, 2020
The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
