Pamela Flanagan

Pamela Flanagan is an attorney, polo player, and horse welfare advocate. Pamela is a licensed Texas attorney currently working for Flanagan|Bilton LLC, a commercial property tax law firm. She earned a BBA from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law.

Pamela has been riding horses since she was 4 years old and began playing polo while at boarding school at the Culver Academies. Pamela is rated 5-goals in women's polo. She has played interscholastic arena polo, and outdoor polo at all levels. She has played polo all across the US, Argentina, China, Mexico, India, Canada, and Guatemala. Pamela has won the U.S. Women’s Open Championship three times. Her team won in 2019, 2020, and 2022. Pamela has worked with the Hawaii Polo Life organization since 2017, and has helped managed the brand and team since 2021.

Pamela works closely with various horse advocacy groups to rehome and repurpose horses in need. In 2019 she played her rescue horse Stella in the tournament, and was awarded the USPA Clint Nagle Equine Welfare Award.

Pamela has been an advocate for women’s polo and was instrumental in ensuring the final of the Women’s U.S. Open was secured on IPC Field #1. In 2022, Pamela raised significant prize money to support women’s polo tournaments. She continued to push for more positive changes for women in the sport. She is involved in the USPA Constitution Committee, Women’s Committee, Equine Welfare Committee, and Women’s Handicap Committee. She was a co-founder of the SMU Polo Team, and currently sits on the Board of Governors for the United States Polo Association.
