Diego Fernando Florez, DVM is a USPA Delegate and Manager of Arizona Polo Club since 2010, volunteering his time to grassroots polo. He is the former USPA Lieutenant Governor, Border Circuit. He currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Crista, his twins Lucas and Sofia and his daughter, Emilia. He is a veterinarian with a love for horses.
Diego knows what it takes to run and develop small clubs and he would like to bring that experience and apply it to the USPA and set up a system to help develop other small clubs and transition from small clubs to medium/self-supporting thriving clubs.
Diego would like to see USPA budgets and programs that help develop small clubs and players, developing self-sustained programs for clubs, making sure that all clubs get funding and needed help when they are showing progress. Currently, only a hand full of clubs benefits from PDI funding. Diego had the Bylaws and the Constitution reviewed by independent legal experts to hold the USPA accountable. He is committed to help small polo clubs are supported where it's needed most – facilities development, equipment, instruction, tournament and umpire support, equine welfare, opportunities for interscholastic and intercollegiate teams. The needs vary club to club and state to state.
He respectfully asks for your vote and support.

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
