She was first introduced to polo when she attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She had some riding experience and had played many stick sports at high levels such as lacrosse and ice hockey. She began teaching polo when she was an assistant manager for Rege Ludwig at his Charlottesville, VA clinics during the summers while in college. She would teach friends and family how to play polo on the weekends just for fun. Approximately 2 years ago, she decided to leave her finance career and dive into polo full time at Gulfstream Polo Club in Wellington, FL. She currently teaches at Farmington Polo Club in Farmington, CT. She was hired in May 2016 to resurrect the club by improving membership development through a curriculum and polo school while also attracting current players to their facility. Jennifer is on the USPA Arena Committee and has been involved in NYTS through horse rental. She also holds an EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning) Certification as an equine specialist.
What has been one of your favorite teaching memories?
“I have always enjoyed watching confidence grow in each student I instruct. One in particular had a lot of trouble in school, often being bullied by his class mates. Polo was his comfort zone and gave him an outlet where he could grow and thrive on his own. He built up enough confidence and had guidance for other adult students to stand up for himself and have higher self-esteem. He loved the sport but it went deeper than that for him and that it made his whole life brighter.”

The suspension of USPA Tournaments and Events will be lifted for USPA Member Clubs in locales where hosting polo matches and tournaments is permitted under applicable state and local laws, executive orders and similar decrees. The USPA Member Clubs in these locales are encouraged to follow all such requirements of their state and local authorities with respect to polo operations. In addition, we also encourage all USPA Member Clubs to take the precautions recommended by the CDC. We are preparing a detailed list of best practices for USPA Member Clubs as they return to hosting USPA Tournaments and Events and plan to circulate these guidelines within the next week. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will notify you if we determine a different course of action is necessary.
