REGIONAL PRESIDENT'S CUP
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Established in 1998, the Regional President’s Cup was reformatted in 2020 to serve as a qualifying tournament for the National President’s Cup with priority entry to first and second place Regional President's Cup teams. The return of this nationwide tournament format will bring together teams representing USPA Member Clubs around the country and restore the relationship between the two trophies.
In last year's competition at Brandywine Polo Club (Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania) held at the 4- to 6-goal level, Hawkwood Polo Club (Barclay Knapp, Leandro Berrios, Wyatt Harlow, Sterling Giannico) emerged victorious over Landhope Farms (Michael Bucklin, Martin Eddy, Joaquin Arguello, Jake Brown) 8-6.5, with Sterling Giannico taking home both Most Valuable Player and Best Playing Pony honors.
This year's edition of the Regional President's Cup will field four teams including returning champions Hawkwood Polo, with Leandro Berrios and Barclap Knapp teaming up with newcomers Martin Ravina and Active Team USPA member Sophie Grant in hopes of repeating their title against Barefield/Princeton Mortgage, Taylor Hill Farm/La Monarquia and Arby Dobb/Dovecote.
