GLADIATOR POLO™ BATTLE FOR THE CAROLINAS
Tournament History
Mark Bellissimo and the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, North Carolina, present the USPA-sanctioned Gladiator Polo™, which is back for it's third year of action-packed competition! On Saturday, August 3, the "Battle for the Carolinas" rematch between Charlotte and Greenville will start at 8:00pm ET. Fans can expect an epic battle between the two teams as Greenville in black defends their title against a motivated Charlotte in teal who lost in the 2018 championship match 11-7 last June.
Free fun for all ages will kick off at 6:00pm ET, including pony rides, carousel rides, magicians and entertainers, face painting, live music and more. General Admission and parking for Gladiator Polo™ are free. Fans can enjoy a premier competition dining experience from the Legends Club and Sky Deck, featuring an authentic Argentine Asado buffet and a beer festival with unlimited four-ounce pours of local craft brews. Following the match, a karaoke after-party with the players will take place at the Silo Bar.
Both teams will collaborate the week prior to the Gladiator Polo™ match as instructors at the first-ever Ninja Polo™ Camp at TIEC proudly supported by the Polo Training Foundation, which will offer an immersive and hands-on educational experience for kids aged 11-18. Campers will learn from some of the world's best professional high-goal arena players for an experience that can’t be found anywhere else. A Ninja Polo™ showcase will take place before the Gladiator Polo™ match.
