Umpire Certification Procedure

There are four steps to becoming a USPA Certified Umpire.

1. Pay the 2010 USPA Registered Player fee;

2. Take the 2010 Outdoor or the Arena Rules test (annually) and obtain a grade from the USPA.
(Note: In order to receive or maintain Umpire Certification from C to AA a 95% minimum grade must be met on the Annual Rules Test.)

3. Be observed (every three years) and a recommendation made by a designated USPA Umpire Certifier.
(Note: It is not a certainty that members will be awarded an Umpire Certification after being evaluated). Umpire Certification recommendations must be forwarded to the USPA.

4. All USPA Umpire Certifications are approved and recorded by the USPA.

Individuals seeking Umpire Certification will be responsible for insuring items 1-3 are completed.

Rules tests can be obtained here and can be completed on-line or printed and faxed.

A list of Umpire Certifiers can be found on the USPA website here and individuals requesting Umpire Certification ratings must insure that Umpire Certification recommendations are submitted to Steve Lane by fax: 561-642-2274 or mailed to the USPA at: 9011 Lake Worth Rd. - Suite A, Lake Worth, FL 33467.

A list of approved Umpire Certifications will be posted on the USPA website  and updated periodically.

If there any questions, or additional information is needed, please email Steve Lane at slpolo9@aol.com.
